PozzSand

PozzSand® is termed a ‘conditioned’ fly ash product in that approximately 10% potable water is added to fly ash enabling PozzSand® to be transported in tipper trucks, which are covered by tarpaulins to minimise dust. As the name suggests, the product can be used as a reactive replacement for fine sand (aggregate) in concrete and is often used by cement producers as a source of alumina (AI2 O3) – typical value in fly ash >30% – for the ‘raw’ mix or kiln feed.

PozzSand® is produced from pulverised fuel ash, which is extracted from the flue gases of pulverised coal-fired power stations. A process of conditioning typically achieves a moisture content of 10% by mass.

This assists in the delivery, stockpiling and general handling of the material to and on site.

The product consists of predominantly aluminosilicate spherical particles, which can enhance the performance of concrete due to their shape, size and chemical composition.

Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, PozzSand® has many applications in the production of quality concrete, mortar and plaster across the construction industry.

Ash Resources provides a technical advisory service for on site assistance and advice on mix design, evaluation trials and handling of their products on site. Technical data and guidance can be provided for all products used in concrete, mortars and plasters.

All products produced by Ash Resources are controlled and tested in compliance with the company’s ISO 9001 quality management system, ensuring customers of the highest level of consistency and service. PozzSand® is produced from plants carrying this prestigious internationally recognised quality accreditation.
