Part of the Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme, construction of the R389million Bramhoek Dam – on the lower reservoir – uses a technique that is a first for South Africa: Grout Enriched – Roller Compacted Concrete (GE-RCC) for the front and back face of the dam. The GE-RCC concrete design was based on a 55/45 CEM I/fly ash mix.
